Sea Point is one of Cape Town’s most densely built suburbs, stretching along the Atlantic coast below Signal Hill and Lion’s Head. Most residents live in apartment blocks and complexes, with free-standing homes higher up in Fresnaye, Bantry Bay and the upper streets of Sea Point. We specify drainage fittings and edging that suit coastal conditions and recommend simple washing and maintenance.
Steep driveways in Fresnaye and Bantry Bay
The upper parts of Sea Point and the neighbouring suburbs are very steep. Driveways need careful design for grip, drainage and transitions so cars do not scrape at the street or garage. Water running off Signal Hill and Lion’s Head in winter needs to be managed with channels and cut-off drains.
Tight sites
Space is at a premium. Many jobs are hand-laid using compact equipment, with deliveries timed to avoid blocking busy roads such as Main Road and Beach Road. We plan access and parking for our vehicles before the job starts.
